ITIF Welcomes the Kickoff of the Foundation for Energy Security and Innovation
WASHINGTON—The RFI announcement by the Department of Energy (DOE) regarding the pending establishment of the Foundation for Energy Security and Innovation (FESI) represents a major milestone in getting it off the ground. The Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF), the leading think tank for science and technology policy, released the following statement from the director of ITIF’s Center for Clean Energy Innovation, Ed Rightor, and Senior Fellow David M. Hart:
FESI represents a unique opportunity to address major energy and climate challenges facing the globe. Now that FESI is set in motion, public and private partners can both further the technological developments needed to cross the valley of death, allowing these innovations to spur the clean energy economy.
ITIF takes pride in this accomplishment as a longtime advocate for FESI. We welcome all future opportunities to work together and to see this foundation come to life.
