Mary Marsh is a policy fellow at ITIF where she supports the Global Trade and Innovation Policy Alliance and contributes to ITIF’s research on trade and innovation. She is pursuing a Master of Science in Foreign Service at Georgetown University, concentrating in science, technology, and international affairs. Mary holds a B.A. in History from Columbia University and previously worked in education and venture capital.

For policymakers to bolster the global competitiveness and innovation capacity of their regions, they must first understand their regions’ strengths and weaknesses. This report—by 11 think tanks from the Global Trade and Innovation Policy Alliance (GTIPA)—benchmarks 213 regions of 13 transatlantic countries using 14 commonly available innovation indicators.
America Needs a National Robotics Strategy
The bipartisan National Commission on Robotics Act would help jump-start a national strategy to restore U.S. leadership in robotics, a critical technology for manufacturing competitiveness, productivity, and national security as China rapidly scales its dominance.
