Mark Schaan
Mr. Mark Schaan is the senior assistant deputy minister for Strategy and Innovation Policy at the Department of Innovation, Science, and Economic Development (ISED) in the Canadian government. His roles include advancing the Canadian government’s macroeconomic policy agenda, supporting the development of horizontal policies, and providing support for regional economic development activities. He previously served as director general in the Marketplace Framework Policy Branch at ISED. A Rhodes scholar, he holds a Ph.D. in social policy from Oxford University.
