Now That Anna Gomez Is Confirmed, FCC Should Focus on Issues That Benefit Consumers, Says ITIF

September 7, 2023

WASHINGTON— Following the confirmation of Anna Gomez as Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Commissioner, the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF), the leading think tank for science and technology policy, released the following statement from Joe Kane, director of broadband and spectrum policy:

Now that the FCC has a full complement of Commissioners, it should remain focused on the communications policy issues that most benefit consumers. The Commission should turn its full attention to an agenda that centers on the productive use of spectrum, effective broadband adoption, and growth of the space economy. By focusing on these kinds of issues, rather than partisan distractions, the FCC will strengthen American broadband leadership and expand the benefits of connectivity for all.
