ITIF Commends Introduction of National Community College Cybersecurity Challenge Act

September 22, 2022

WASHINGTON—In response to Representatives Lisa McClain and Yvette D. Clarke’s introduction of the National Community College Cybersecurity Challenge Act today, the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF), the leading think tank for science and technology policy, released the following statement from Daniel Castro, vice president of ITIF:

One of the biggest barriers to improving cybersecurity in the United States is that there are not enough workers with the requisite skills. This legislation would catalyze the development of regional cybersecurity training programs, providing new career pathways for students and addressing the national cybersecurity workforce shortage. Passing this legislation would be an important step forward in improving U.S. cybersecurity.
