WASHINGTON—For the third year in a row, the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF) has been named the top science and technology policy think tank in the United States, and number two in the world, according to the latest edition of the Global Go To Think Tank Index, which is produced annually by the University of Pennsylvania’s Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program.
“It is an honor to be recognized by policymakers and our peers for the quality and influence of the research and analysis we produce on technology and innovation policy,” said ITIF President Robert D. Atkinson. “Think tanks play a more important role than ever in providing credible analysis and innovative recommendations that shape policy debates worldwide, and we are proud to be regarded as a thought leader in this space.”
Founded in 2006, ITIF focuses on the intersection of technological innovation and public policy. Its mission is to formulate and promote policy solutions that accelerate innovation and boost productivity to spur growth, opportunity, and progress.
“From how we communicate to how we work, travel, and interact with the world around us, technological innovation is driving profound change throughout the global economy and society,” said Atkinson. “It is essential for policymakers to have policy research and analysis to help them evaluate and respond to fast-moving issues and circumstances. We are proud to continue providing independent, nonpartisan, forward-looking analysis to shape the public debate and drive an effective innovation policy agenda.”
