Michel Patry

Dr. Michel Patry is a policy advisor to ITIF's Canada Centre for Innovation and Competitiveness. He is currently president and CEO of Foundation HEC Montréal and professor emeritus at HEC Montréal. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of British Columbia (UBC) and a M.Sc. in applied economics from HEC Montréal. Prior to joining the Foundation, Dr. Patry was director at HEC Montréal from 2006 to 2019 and full professor in the Department of Economics of HEC Montréal.

Dr. Patry has served on the board of directors of many Canadian and international organizations. He is currently serving as director on the boards of SCALE AI, of the Montréal Chamber of Commerce Foundation and of the St. James Club (Montréal), as well as on the Advisory Boards of HEC Montréal’s École des dirigeants and of AUDENCIA (Nantes and Paris).

Dr. Patry is an expert in the areas of the economics of organization and economic regulation. He has published over a hundred scientific and professional papers and has served as a consultant to many private and public organizations.
