Michael A. Clauser leads our Data & Trust team, where he engages with policymakers around the world to bridge the trust gap between technology companies, governments and consumers in areas of the tech supply chain, cybersecurity, data privacy, cross-border data flow, artificial intelligence (AI), online content, and tech ethics. He has vertical policy experience in cloud, AI, deep fakes, semiconductors, national security, and blockchain.

Prior to joining Access Partnership, Mike was the head of global government affairs for a US semiconductor company and managed Washington operations for a global Japanese IT services leader. He is an officer in the US Navy Reserve and served as a national security aide to a US Congressman and a Presidential appointee in the Pentagon. Mike is a Penn State Nittany Lion, where he served as an appropriator in student government. He holds an MA in Strategic Studies from the US Naval War College, an MA in International Business from Poznan University of Economics (Poland), and an MA in European Studies from the University of Exeter (UK). He is a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations is an alumni of various emerging leader programs with think tanks such as the German Marshall Foundation, Atlantik Brueke, Center for Strategic & International Studies, and the Center for a New American Security. He is published and is quoted widely on technology policy and national security.
