Joe Devaney

Joe Devaney serves as Vice President of Policy and Government Affairs for Astellas US LLC, a U.S. subsidiary of Tokyo-based Astellas Pharma Inc. Devaney leads the Policy and Government Affairs and team and is responsible for developing, communicating and executing Astellas’ federal and state government strategies, engagement activities and policy development efforts across all functional areas.

Devaney joined Astellas after 20 years at Sanofi and its predecessor companies, where he held roles of increasing responsibility in public policy and market access, including the role of Vice President of federal and state relations. Prior to Sanofi, he was Director of state government affairs for Sandoz. Joe also supported the New Jersey State Legislature for eight years, including as research director and Chief of Staff in the New Jersey General Assembly.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia and his Master’s Degree in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia.
