Jim Blakley
Jim Blakley leads Intel’s Cloud Services Solutions team in the Cloud Platforms Group. He works with software and hardware vendors, systems integrators, service providers and enterprise IT organization to define, integrate and drive early adoption of innovative technology solutions in cloud computing.
Mr. Blakley has over 30 years experience in the computing and communications industries. For the last 13 years, he’s worked at Intel with data center operators and service providers on a wide variety of systems, solutions, strategies and technologies. Jim joined Intel from Lucent Technologies where he was network solution director in the data center and telco practice. At Lucent, he held a variety of R&D, product management, marketing and sales roles. Mr. Blakley was a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories and one of the original architects and developers of the Advanced Intelligent Network. He began his career at AT&T Bell Laboratories developing hardware, software, firmware and systems for speech recognition, synthesis, coding and transmission.
Mr. Blakley holds 4 patents for telecommunications systems and services and is the author of numerous publications. He holds a Masters in Management from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, a Masters of Communication, Information and Control Engineering from the University of Michigan and a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering also from the University of Michigan. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE. He is a former member of the adjunct faculty at the Oregon Health and Sciences University Management of Science and Technology program where he taught business strategy.
