Jason Schulz is Partnership Manager for Toyota Motor Sales (TMS) 21st Century Business Partnerships group. As a part of Toyota’s North American Business Strategy Department, his responsibility is to lead a team to research, identify and leverage new technologies and companies to uniquely develop automotive products and services for the 21st Century.

The current focus of Schulz’s work includes projects related to technology innovation, automated driving, human-machine-interface, vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication, business modeling and strategic partnerships.

Schulz has been in the automotive business for well over fifteen years, starting his TMS career at Lexus. He has held positions in marketing, sales, training, IT, customer service, advanced technology and strategic planning. He was responsible for bringing to market several award-winning telematics products including Safety Connect, Lexus Enform, Lexus Enform App Suite and Toyota Entune.

Schulz has received awards from both CNET and Tech Radar for his work at the Consumer Electronics Show, promoting Toyota’s advanced technologies. Additionally, he received a Telly Award for his launch work for Toyota Entune. Schulz’s work as a software developer has also been published. Schulz was a contributor to Rick Barrera’s book Over Promise and Over Deliver.

On a personal note, Schulz is an avid runner logging an average of 50 miles per week. He’s currently training for the 2014 San Francisco Marathon.
