Gail D. Fosler
Gail D. Fosler was president of The GailFosler Group LLC, a strategic advisory service for global business leaders and public policymakers. She was also Senior Advisor to the Business Council and leads its partnership with The Conference Board. Fosler served as president of The Conference Board from October 2007 to December 2009. From 1989-2008, she served as chief economist. In 2004, she assumed responsibility for expanding the international presence and operations of The Conference Board. Under Fosler’s direction as chief economist, The Conference Board assumed the development and dissemination of the Leading Economic Indicators from the U.S. Department of Commerce; developed a broad-based program in productivity, labor force dynamics, and innovation; significantly broadened the global scope of its indicators; and founded its China Center for Economics and Business. The Wall Street Journal has twice named the widely quoted Fosler America’s most accurate economic forecaster. Prior to coming to The Conference Board, Fosler served as Deputy Staff Director and Chief Economist of the U.S. Senate Budget Committee, where she helped develop frameworks and forecasts for congressional budget debates and negotiated on fiscal, monetary, and budget process initiatives for the committee.
Fosler received her B.A. in economics from the University of Southern California and her M.B.A. in finance from New York University.
