David Weller

Google

David Weller is Head of Global Trade Policy at Google based in Washington, DC. Prior to joining Google in December 2013, he was a partner at WilmerHale, where he advised technology and other clients regarding foreign market access barriers, WTO disputes, and trade policy issues.

Prior to joining WilmerHale, David served as Deputy Assistant USTR for China and USTR Assistant General Counsel. He was USTR’s chief legal advisor on China trade issues and chief lawyer for negotiations of free trade agreements with Morocco and Bahrain. He also represented the United States in WTO dispute settlement proceedings.

David has worked and lived in China, Hong Kong and Vietnam and is proficient in Mandarin. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Columbia Law School, was notes editor of the Columbia Law Review, and clerked for Judge Cedarbaum, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York.
