Charles Deguire
Charles Deguire is a member of the board of ITIF's Centre for Canadian Innovation and Competitiveness.
Deguire is the CEO and co-founder of Kinova, a Boisbriand- based ICT firm. Kinova designs and manufactures robotics platforms and components that are simple, sexy and safe under two business units: Assistive Robotics empowers people with disabilities to push beyond their current boundaries and limitations while Service Robotics empowers people in industry to interact with their environment more efficiently and safely. Deguire is the passionate visionary behind Kinova, the leader of the modern robotics revolution.
The Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), Navdeep Bains, named Deguire to chair the Advanced Manufacturing Table, as part of Government of Canada 2017 Budget Economic Strategy Tables. A humble man of science in his entrepreneurial debut, Deguire quickly became an agile businessman and developed Kinova during his Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at École de technologies supérieure de Montréal. After studying health technologies and innovation management, Deguire pursued entrepreneurship studies at MIT.
