Regulating the Conversation: The U.S. Landscape for AI Chatbot Legislation Webinar

Chatbot regulation has emerged as one of the most active areas of U.S. AI policymaking, with states and Congress considering new rules for AI systems that interact directly (and often personally) with users.
This webinar will launch the Future of Privacy Forum’s (FPF) new report, “Regulating the Conversation: The U.S. Landscape for AI Chatbot Legislation,” which maps the growing legal landscape and identifies common legislative approaches to chatbot regulation, including crisis response, minor-specific safeguards, design restrictions, and parental controls.
FPF Policy Analyst Justine Gluck will begin with an overview of the report’s key findings, followed by a moderated discussion featuring ITIF’s Alex Ambrose and other experts on the forces driving chatbot legislation, emerging approaches across jurisdictions, and unresolved implementation and policy questions.
