Tuesday, January 14, 202010:00 AM to 11:30 AM EST
Information Technology and Innovation Foundation700 K Street NW, Suite 600Washington District Of Columbia, 20001

Event Summary

Global competition is intensifying and Europe is taking measures to deepen its innovation and risk-taking capability to compete in global markets increasingly defined by new technologies. The European Innovation Council (EIC) will help turn Europe’s scientific discoveries into businesses that can scale up faster. Currently in its pilot phase, the EIC will become a full-fledged reality from 2021 under Horizon Europe, the EU research and innovation funding programme for 2021–2027. Given the growing economic importance of breakthrough and disruptive innovation, and based on the early success of the pilot, the European Commission has proposed to dedicate €10 billion to the EIC under Horizon Europe.

Please join ITIF for an expert panel discussion featuring Signe Ratso, Deputy Director-General for Research and Innovation with the European Commission, who will present the thinking and inspiration behind the EIC, how it will work in practice, and how it is expected to change the face of European innovation over the next decade.

The event will be livestreamed here.
