On July 23, 2015, the Center for Data Innovation and Health IT Now convened a panel of experts in the field of genomics to explore the policy recommendations in the new white paper, “From Evolution to Revolution: Building the 21st Century Genomic Infrastructure,” designed to overcome some of the most significant regulatory and technical obstacles to precision medicine. The panel of leaders in genomic research from academia and industry, discussed opportunities and challenges across three areas: improving interoperability and data sharing; engaging patients; and re-thinking privacy law.
