The FTC should develop voluntary standards for detecting and preventing fake reviews on digital platforms.
Details
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) should work with review websites, e-commerce sites, and consumer brands to develop voluntary best practices for preventing and detecting fake reviews. In addition, the FTC should form a public-private partnership between private sector stakeholders and enforcement agencies to share information on suspected fake review schemes.
