Nigel Cory, associate director of trade policy at the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF), a Washington, D.C.-based think tank, told The Epoch Times that the undersea communication cable sector is an important front in an effort by the United States, Australia, and other liberal democracies to secure critical information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure against security threats from China and the Chinese Communist Party.
