Wechat, Tiktok Bans Averted

The semiconductor industry is on the verge of a legislative victory later this year when Congress passes the annual National Defense Authorization Act. Language in both the House and Senate versions authorize tax incentives and grants for semiconductor manufacturing. But even if the legislation is approved, don’t expect U.S. companies to shut off relations with overseas partners to return jobs to the United States, John Neuffer, president and CEO of the Semiconductor Industry Association, said during a discussion last week organized by the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation.
