WASHINGTON—The “Government Digital Transformation Exchange”—a partnership between the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF) and the Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT)—has been nominated for State IT Innovation of the Year at the 2017 StateScoop 50 Awards. The Exchange will provide a digital repository of case studies on innovative IT projects that states and local governments can use to share best practices. Public voting for the award is open now until April 12.
“It is an honor to be recognized by experts around the country for this innovative new program,” said ITIF Vice President Daniel Castro, who is spearheading the Exchange. “Many government agencies are leveraging digital technologies to transform and improve government operations in new and innovative ways, so it is important to capture and disseminate those lessons so that counterparts in other places can implement them, too. The Government Digital Transformation Exchange will provide concrete lessons learned by early adopters so that other states and localities that want to implement similar projects will be able to replicate and build on their initial efforts.”
“The Government Digital Transformation Exchange is an excellent example of the collaborative mindset we have at DoIT,” said Hardik Bhatt, Secretary Designate and Chief Digital Officer for Illinois. “I challenged my team to take an innovative approach to digital transformation and this partnership will result in an efficient and dynamic interchange. We look forward to growing and sharing best practices with other public entities around the nation.”
Voting for State IT Innovation of the Year is open now until April 12. The winner will be announced on April 23.
