To Solve Our Growth Problem, We Must First Solve Our Productivity Problem

We cannot increase living standards unless we increase productivity, which unfortunately has grown slowly for over a decade, Rob Atkinson writes in the Christian Science Monitor. The next president should make faster productivity growth the principal goal of economic policy, tailoring the approach for different sectors of the economy, supporting R&D to develop better “tools,” and ensuring firms adopt them more rapidly.
