Steve Bauer
Steven Bauer is a Research Affiliate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. He received his PhD in computer science at MIT working in the Advanced Network Architecture Group with David Clark. Bauer's research focuses on issues that have both technical and policy components with a particular focus on broadband networks. He worked with the FCC and Samknows on their recent broadband measurement study. He has extensively studied speed measurement methodologies and data in particular data from Measurement Lab. He has detailed knowledge of TCP and its performance considerations, broad familiarity with networking, and an understanding of economic and policy issues.
