Sira Maliphol
Sira Maliphol is an assistant professor in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in technology management, economics, and policy (TEMEP) at Seoul National University. His research interests include innovation policy, socio-economic impacts of technological change and new technology emergence. He is also co-lead of the Trustworthy AI Lab. He was previously graduate program director and assistant professor of technology and society at SUNY Korea, affiliated with Stony Brook University. Before that, he worked as a researcher at the Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI) of Korea. He has served as a consultant on UN Development Programme and World Bank projects, examining Korean STI development to apply to policies in several developing countries in Africa, Latin America, and South and Southeast Asia. He also served as a research fellow at the STI Office of Thailand.
Sira has published articles in peer-reviewed academic journals such as Science and Public Policy, Humanities and Social Science Communications, International Regional Science Review, and the Asian Journal of Technological Innovation. He serves as associate editor at Science and Public Policy and Strategic Change.
Sira holds a Ph.D. in engineering from Seoul National University. He received his master’s degree in science, technology and public policy from the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University. He studied mathematics at Rutgers College at Rutgers University.
