Sean Pool recently ended his tenure as Policy Analyst and Managing Editor of Science Progress, the Center for American Progress’s online science and technology policy journal. Pool was responsible for the day-to-day operations and editing of Science Progress in addition to his work researching and writing about the innovation economy and policies that promote small business success, entrepreneurship, and bottom-up economic growth. Previously, Pool supported Climate Progress and American Progress’s energy opportunity team, where he assisted the Vice President of Energy Policy with team administration and in the development of policy proposals to advance the U.S. clean energy economy. Pool’s policy work with the energy team focused on regional and state-level climate change policies, clean energy innovation networks, and enhancing U.S. industrial competitiveness through re-search, commercialization, and deployment of new technology.Pool received his bachelor’s degree from Yale University with a double major in environmental engineering and international studies.
