Robin D. Beran is Caterpillar’s Chief Tax Officer and Director of Global Tax & Trade. Beran is also Assistant Treasurer of Caterpillar Inc. After joining Caterpillar in 1989, he became the senior tax officer in 1990.
Beran, a native of Odin, Kansas, USA, graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1973 with a B.B.A. in Accounting. He spent 16 years with Price Waterhouse, including 2 years in Technical Tax Services, along with the Phoenix and Sacramento practice offices. He attended the Caterpillar Advanced Management Program in 1991 and 2001. In 1994, he attended Brookings, Inside Washington: Business & Public Policy.
Beran is the Chairman of the Forum for Analysis of Corporate Taxation (FACT), on the Board of Directors for The Tax Council and The Tax Council Policy Institute. He is affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, CEO Tax Study Group, fei Committee on Taxation, Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation Tax Council I, and the Tax Executives Institute.
