Rebecca Taylor

Rebecca Taylor was destined for a career in technology. After all, when your high school is the Mining and Mechanical Institute, it changes you forever and Rebecca knows it changed her for the better. It led her to the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS), the largest technology consortium in North America focused on Manufacturing where she currently serves as Senior Vice President. But that doesn’t really explain who she is.

Rebecca is excited about stepping into the unknown which is why she is in a leadership position at NCMS – where development of new and exciting manufacturing technology is done every day. Collaboration among companies, academia and government allows technology to be developed with less risk with greater speed and less of the unknowns – that is what NCMS is all about. She thrives leading these teams into the next generation of technology development.

Passionate about these important issues, Rebecca is a bit of a geek about cybersecurity - especially for companies that make things. She is an evangelist for cyber for manufacturers and routinely scares (or alarms into action) large meeting rooms with her talks. But it’s all in an effort to have a safe, secure production base in the country.

You only need to look at her volunteer work to know that Rebecca’s commitment continues when she’s off the clock. She serves on the Board for the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the National Advanced Mobility Consortium and Girls Inc DC. She also is on the Executive Committee of the National Defense Industrial Association’s Manufacturing Division, the NASA Marshall Partnership Forum Steering Council and the International Women’s Forum. Rebecca is also very proud to be the recipient of the national STEP award recognizing outstanding women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Production.

Rebecca holds a Bachelors degree from the George Washington University and a Masters degree from the London School of Economics and is planning to lead the next frontier in secure, productive manufacturing.
