Kevin Klock

Kevin A. Klock joined the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) in October 2015. As Vice President of Operations and General Counsel, he provides overall leadership of the Foundation’s corporate infrastructure and legal affairs and serves as a critical thought partner to the President and entire organization.

Klock was formerly Head of Governance and Assistant Secretary for the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (Gavi) and Company Secretary for the Gavi Campaign. There he provided public sector and corporate governance advice and was lead staff member on governance for Gavi's finance and debt-issuance activities including the International Finance Facility for Immunisation (IFFIm). Prior to this he was with the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), which provides research and education to corporate boards. Over his career, he has served on three boards of directors and provided commentary for articles published in Chief Executive, Corporate Secretary, and other industry publications.

Also, Klock holds an appointment at Georgetown University as Adjunct Professor of Law and Scholar at the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law. He lectures on global health, governance, and public-private partnerships. In addition, his scholarship has been published by Oxford University Press and the Georgetown Journal of International Law, among others.

Klock received his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Georgetown and is a member of the bars of the District of Columbia and the United States Supreme Court. He is a graduate of Duke University, received his MA from American University, and was Lord Rothermere Scholar at Oxford University. Originally from Rochester, New York, he and his family live outside Washington, DC.
