Glenn Downey is a business creator and value builder, possessing Board level analysis, presentation and communication skills; early career skills shaped with Price Waterhouse and Montgomery & Company in the U.S.. Glenn has held start-up and Senior management roles within Australian publicly listed and unlisted technology companies, including CEO, General Manager and Senior Vice President, Executive and Non-Executive Director, have developed leadership qualities, sales & marketing and operational effectiveness. He has previous experience within high profile international consulting, strategy, active investment and technology M&A firms, providing strong foundations for financial and strategic analysis, scenario development, transaction due diligence and negotiation, structuring, project and portfolio management capabilities. He has international business experience and expertise gained in the United States, Hong Kong & Southern China and New Zealand. He also has multiple years of direct experience and dealings in public listed, public unlisted, private company, start-up, public sector (CSIRO & NICTA) and university commercialisation environments (including Co-operative Research Centres) and dealings with and for government agencies (including AusIndustry as a Commercialising Emerging Technologies Business Adviser).
His sectors worked in include, information technology and new media including internet and web-based business models, enterprise search technologies, software, telecommunication devices, infrastructure, networks and services, defence, energy, renewable and recyclables, transport, manufacturing, medical devices, engineering and professional services and entrepreneurial businesses.
Glenn has provided advisory reviews and support to many hundreds of early-stage technology companies and growth businesses; led start-ups and venture backed companies from pre-founding through to exit.
