David Konisky is the Lynton K. Caldwell Professor at the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University, where he also co-directs the Energy Justice Lab. His research focuses on U.S. environmental politics and policy, with current projects examining race and income-based disparities in regulatory enforcement, equity and justice issues emerging in the U.S. energy transition, and public attitudes about the environment, energy, and climate change.

Rapid adoption of electric vehicles by low-income and disadvantaged populations is necessary for decarbonization. Innovative products and business models are emerging that accelerate such adoption. Supportive policies should extend these innovations and amplify their benefits.
