Cynthia Bouthot
Cynthia Bouthot is President of the Collaborative Innovation Group, a company focused on providing organizations, governments and economic development agencies the tools, methodologies, and products to establish product offerings, develop routes to market, and help build image and brand. Cynthia is also head of UKTI’s Innovation and R&D Programmes, where she is working across the US to leverage innovation hubs more effectively.
Prior to this, Cynthia was Consul and Head of Trade and Investment at the British Consulate Boston where she led a 12-person trade and investment team focused on international business development in the life science, healthcare, renewable energy, software, and communications sectors. Cynthia managed senior client relationships, produced business case and ROI analysis, executed signature marketing events, and delivered chargeable services for UK clients. She cultivated a wide variety of relationships with key stakeholders including academic institutions, technology transfer and commercialization offices, economic development agencies, regulatory bodies, as well as city, state, federal, and international agencies. Cynthia also has broad experience in both the public and private sectors. Cynthia led Management Systems for the Massachusetts Port Authority and headed up the Trade and Investment Office for the State of Massachusetts in London. As Global Lead for Business Readiness for EMC's Oracle ERP implementation, Cynthia was responsible for all non-technical aspects of $100 million system and process-restructuring program. And as Director of Industry Consulting with Benchmarking Partners she worked with a range of public and private clients on technology change initiatives. Cynthia began her career with Honeywell Bull in finance and auditing. She holds a BS from Boston College with a major in Finance and a Masters degree in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis University.
