Carrie Goldberg
Carrie Goldberg has provided legal advocacy and representation to hundreds of individuals. Her cases have included removal of intimate images from the Internet, restraining orders to stop online and offline abuse, school disciplinary hearings relating to sexual assault and Title IX, personal injury lawsuits stemming from rape and domestic violence, lawsuits against school districts for Title IX violations, filings with the US Dept of Ed, Office of Civil Rights, representation of high profile individuals being harassed and/or sextorted online.
Carrie is admitted to practice law in New York State, 1st Appellate Department and the Eastern and Southern New York Districts of United States District Court. She is a member of the New York City Bar Association, the Brooklyn Bar Association, and the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA). She has lectured about revenge porn, online privacy, sextortion, and cyber civil rights at the New York City Bar Association and various undergrad and law schools throughout the country.
She is regularly featured in articles and broadcasts about revenge porn, sex crimes, Title IX, etc., including for the BBC, Huffington Post, Vice, Newsweek, The New York Times, New York Post, Washington Post, Gawker, Nightline, and CNN. She was Cosmo’s “Fun Fearless Female” for August, 2014.
Prior to starting the firm Carrie was the Associate Director of Legal Services at The Vera Institute of Justice, Inc. Guardianship Project. Before becoming a lawyer and while attending law school at night, for almost six years she was a case worker for Nazi Victims and Holocaust Survivors in Northern Manhattan.
