A.J. Bhadelia
A.J. Bhadelia is a trusted voice in technology policy, with nearly two decades of experience spanning both government and the private sector. He specializes in the rapidly evolving field of AI governance and emerging tech regulation. A.J. currently leads North America Government Affairs and Public Policy at Cohere, a global technology company that builds foundational AI models and agentic systems for enterprise adoption.
Prior to Cohere, A.J. spent almost a decade at Google, holding several key roles advising its executives, helping lead a team of more than 60 policy professionals, and driving its public policy strategy. A.J. also held leadership positions in the Executive Branch and on Capitol Hill, where he received distinctions for his work promoting the effective regulation of new technologies. He performed his graduate studies at The Johns Hopkins University, where he graduated with merit based on his research around telecommunications regulation and innovation.
In his current role at Cohere, A.J. continues to bridge the gap between technological innovation and responsible governance, working to shape policies that foster AI advancement while addressing societal concerns. He works closely with government, academia, businesses and other organizations to develop, highlight, and advocate for this work.
