ITIF Panel at WSIS+20: Beyond “Tech Imperialism”
A narrative has taken hold in both advanced and emerging economies that puts the blame for a range of societal ills—from intensifying inequality, to job losses, to consumer harm—on advanced technology and the people and companies and the bring it to market. And yet it is technological innovation that delivers the growth, productivity and scale needed to achieve the WSIS vision of a “development-oriented Information Society.” ITIF will host a panel discussion at WSIS+20 in Geneva to unpack critical ingredients for achieving that vision.
Drawing from a diverse set of experiences—from impact investing, to public service in technology and global public policymaking, to business perspective from the leading edge of digital transformation technology—the panel will seek to generate concrete recommendations for WSIS beyond 2025.
