Senior Fellow Richard Bennett will present on on IP transition panel regarding how the pace of change in today’s telecommunications marketplace demands constant vigilance to keep up with the latest technologies. The devices that many of us use every day – smartphones, tablets, e-readers – are easy to “get.” But what about the networks these products rely on? How do they work, and are they able to keep up? Just as the black rotary dial gave way to the iPhone, so too are fundamental changes occurring in our networks, only it’s more difficult to see and understand. We’re moving from a system that has relied on copper connections and circuit switches to one that will be reliant upon fiber optics and Internet protocols. USTelecom has invited experts to discuss these changes, from an historical and engineering perspective. Visit the USTelecom website for more information.
