Event Summary

The America COMPETES Act has played an important role in enhancing the science, technology, and innovation enterprise that underpins U.S. economic growth. But as ITIF writes in 25 Policy Recommendations for the 2013 America COMPETES Act Reauthorization, more can be done to improve the implementation, coordination, and overall success of U.S. science and technology policy. Reauthorization of the America COMPETES Act in 2013 affords an opportunity to implement policy reforms designed to transform the U.S. innovation system and better translate science and technology development into economic development.

Please join ITIF on Tuesday, May 7 for an event considering policy priorities for the 2013 America COMEPTES Act reauthorization and introducing ITIF’s 25 proposals to enhance the COMPETES Act through improving innovation and technology commercialization; implementing federal institutional reforms to spur innovation; and enhancing science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education.
