Umair Javed

Umair Javed

Senior Vice President, Spectrum

Umair Javed is Senior Vice President, Spectrum for CTIA, where he oversees the formation and execution of public policy positions and strategies related to spectrum for wireless broadband services.

Prior to joining CTIA, Javed served as Chief Counsel to FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel, where he advised the Chairwoman on all political, legal, and policy considerations in carrying out the FCC’s agenda. From October 2017 to January 2021, Javed served as Legal Advisor, Wireless and International, in the Office of FCC Commissioner Rosenworcel. Javed joined the FCC from Wiley Rein LLP, where he was an attorney in the firm’s Telecom, Media, and Technology Group.

Umair graduated from the University of Virginia and received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
