Marja Kuosmanen
Marja Kuosmanen is Minister Counselor for Economic Affairs at the Embassy of Finland in Washington, D.C. She has worked for the Finnish Foreign Service for twenty years. She started in 1991 at the Department for External Economic Relations where she worked until the end of 1994. In 1995 she worked at the Department for Political Affairs. Her first foreign posting was at the Embassy of Finland in Tokyo 1995-1998 (Attaché and Second Secretary). After that she served at the Permanent Delegation of Finland in Geneva 1998-2002 (First Secretary/WTO issues). In 2002 she returned to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Helsinki and worked with WTO issues at the Department for External Economic Relations (Counsellor). In 2007 she was posted to the Permanent Delegation of Finland in Vienna and served there during the Finnish OSCE Chairmanship in 2008 (Counsellor). In 2009 she moved to Washington, D.C.
Marja Kuosmanen holds a M.A. in Swedish and English language and international politics from the University of Helsinki.
