# Recommendation

The administration and Congress should establish a joint industry-university-government R&D partnership to reduce the cost of drug development and production.

# Details

New technologies can reduce the cost of drug discovery and production. The administration should ask Congress to fund an R&D program to work in these areas, similar to the R&D program for semiconductors that was established under the CHIPS legislation.
