# To Do: Establish a Quantum Traineeship Program

# Recommendation

Congress should establish a quantum traineeship program for university students.

# Details

Congress should authorize and fund a Department of Education (DOE)-led traineeship program that partners students studying toward bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. degrees with DOE national labs for hands-on quantum information science (QIS) experience. This program should ensure it considers how to expand participation of underrepresented groups and institutions in QIS, including non-R1 academic institutions, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and Minority Serving Institutions.
