# ITIF Welcomes the Passage of the Endless Frontier Act, A Key Legislation in Keeping the United States Competitive Against China

WASHINGTON—Following the Senate Commerce Committee passing the Endless Frontier Act, a legislation aimed at ramping up federal support for U.S. research and development to better compete with China, the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF), the leading think tank for science and technology policy, released the following statement from ITIF President, Rob Atkinson:

*The Senate Commerce Committee took an important step this week in boosting the nation’s advanced technology competitiveness position forward with its bipartisan passage of the Endless Frontier Act.*

*ITIF is particularly pleased to see that the legislation contained $10 billion to support the funding of a limited number of regional technology hubs: an idea that ITIF proposed in late 2019. Passing and fully funding the EFA will be one of a number of key steps Congress will need to take to avoid the U.S. losing its competitive position to China.*
