# Accelerating Sustainability: Maximizing the Benefits of Connected Cars

The age of the intelligent vehicle is here. Every day new technologies are being announced that allow us to save time, fuel and emissions when we travel. However, transportation policy and systems need to be updated to enhance the adoption of these key technologies, and ensure that America maximizes the environmental and economic benefits that come with them.

The Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF), the Center for Clean Energy Innovation (CCEI), the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) and the Digital Energy and Sustainability Solutions Campaign (DESSC) will host a policy discussion which will identify and describe some of the most promising intelligent vehicle technologies on the market and discuss how government policy can extend their benefits to our communities and our planet.

**The event will be held Thursday, May 8, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Dirksen Senate Office Building, Room 562, on Capitol Hill.**

It will feature two panel discussions, "Connected Cars are Cleaner Cars" and "Policy Drivers & the Future of the Connected Car," which will include leading experts in transportation, technology policy and the environment. The event is free, open to the public and complies with ethics rules.
