Commentary: In a survey conducted by the Pew Research Center last month, 66 percent of respondents said they believe the U.S. government should encourage wind and solar power production. Moreover, 58 percent of respondents said they believe federal and state governments are doing too little to reduce the effects of climate change, and 75 percent support U.S. participation in international efforts to reduce the effects of climate change. These results provide further support that the government should be taking a more active role in the development and adoption of clean energy technologies.
