Over the past few months, the U.S. government has taken multiple steps to limit federal agencies from using information security products, solutions, and services from the Moscow-based security company Kaspersky Lab over concerns that it has unethical ties to the Russian government. As Daniel Castro writes in The Hill, this would be completely justified if the company were in fact colluding with the Kremlin to spy on Americans—but instead of providing evidence, U.S. officials so far have offered only innuendo.
