Comments to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Regarding the National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standard
Congress has tasked the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service with implementing a disclosure requirement for foods that contain "GM" ingredients. The stated objective is to inform without misleading consumers. This mandate necessarily requires numerous compromises and must tread a narrow path. ITIF analyzes the issues and provides suggestions on how best to implement the mandate.
