America Can’t Compete Globally Without Training

The United States would never compete in the Olympics without training. But we compete in the global economy that way, writes Rob Atkinson in the Christian Science Monitor. Only with a robust national competitiveness agenda will America continue to lead in the global trading system. That agenda should include world-class American infrastructure, skills, and science and engineering research; a lower the corporate tax rate and less burdensome regulations; and stronger enforcement of trade rules to ensure a level playing field.
