Wireless Taxes Hamper the Digital Economy and Reinforce the Digital Divide

Excessive wireless taxes, like the one just approved in Prince Georges County, Maryland, lead to less digital use, disproportionately affect lower income and minority populations, and by reducing digital activity hurt the economy as a whole. Policymakers should be implementing reforms that enhance digital use and economic activity while making it easier for at-risk populations to get online. Excessive wireless taxes are the exact wrong policies to accomplish this important goal.
