# Sarah Schacht
**Public Health Data Advisor**

In Sarah’s role at Socrata, she’s spearheaded the LIVES Access Program to launch restaurant inspection scores in the LIVES data standard. As a two-time E. Coli survivor (including the infamous “Jack in the Box” outbreak), and successful advocate for accessible restaurant inspection scores, she has built a reputation as a persuasive and innovative voice in public health. The FDA now uses her survival story in educating foodhandlers across the US. preventing foodborne illness is a passion for Schacht, as is her passion for accessible government information.

With over a decade of work in the field of open government as a nonprofit executive director, advisor to governments, and consultant to philanthropy, she is a longtime advocate for open data. A published author on the topic of open government, Schacht is currently writing a new nonfiction book on open government models.
