Rasika Abeysinghe

Dr. Rasika Abeysinghe joined the famous Bell Labs after completing his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University in the U.S. There he worked in the Network Planning and Process Engineering group focusing on improving customer processes using workflow automation. He joined the Wireless Business Group at the advent of 3G. Since then he has worked on new and emerging technologies such as 3G, IMS, and 4G/LTE.

During the early days of 3G, Dr. Abeysinghe was involved in product managing and marketing Mobile Internet applications for 3G networks. He also managed the first enterprise trials of 3G mobile high speed data. He worked closely with enterprises to determine their process and technology needs with service providers to deliver the optimal trial experience.

Dr. Abeysinghe has led solutions teams focused on developing and delivering end to end solutions to key service provider problems. Dr. Abeysinghe and his team have worked on a wide range of solutions including fixed mobile convergence, next generation networks for voice, carrier Ethernet, in-building wireless, wireless backhaul and wireless broadband.

Dr. Abeysinghe is currently a Director in the Networks Solutions organization in Alcatel-Lucent. His team supports service providers in making technology migration decisions and provides support in developing go to market plans with new technologies such as 4G/LTE.
