Kristen Kane serves as the National Purposes Director of the FCC’s National Broadband Team. Prior to joining the FCC, Kristen was CEO of a new media company that she restructured and helped to sell and previously served as Chief Operating Officer of the New York City Department of Education, where she was responsible for the implementation of the Bloomberg administration's reform strategy as well as oversight of daily operations. She also served as a vice president and equity research analyst at JP Morgan and worked at Salomon Smith Barney prior to that. She earned an M.B.A. with a Certificate in Public Management from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.A. with Distinction in English from Yale.
